My Story
How it all began...
I’m a salon owner, global educator and salon biz mentor but things weren’t always this way…
It wasn’t so long ago that my life looked drastically different to what it does today. I’m a small town girl, who grew up in the bush & spent the entirety of my 20’s travelling around the world.
Luckily for me, I fell into hairdressing - when I was 18, I took a job at a tiny suburban salon as a tea and tidy.. it didn’t take long until I realised I was hooked. Long story short, following a stint in London, I found myself back in Brisbane, Australia. While I won’t go into the heavy details, it was a challenging time for me - my health was deteriorating and while my friends were excelling in their careers and buying houses, I found myself completely down and out.
It was during this time that I decided to freelance, as a way to take on a little work while focusing on my wellbeing. Fast forward 6 years and here I am, with a wildly successful salon business, a talented team, multiple ambassador partnerships under my belt and a podcast. (not to mention my hair education classes and business mentoring)
When I’m not working on the floor or teaching boho luxe techniques, I’m helping other salon owners to grow and expand their businesses. I’m a big believer in manifestation and getting sh*t done and if you’re keen to make your dream life a reality, we could totally be bbff’s. (biz best friends, forever)

Honestly, I didn’t think that my journey would lead me to hairdressing but I’m glad it did. It all started when I took a casual job as a salon receptionist - my boss at the time offered me an apprenticeship & that was it. This was over 15 years ago - since then I’ve been doing my bit to contribute & grow the beauty industry.
I saw a massive gap in the market upon returning from a stint living abroad in London - I couldn’t understand why service based industries didn’t think of themselves as a “brand” - Alas, Paloma Roan was born!

Early morning markets, horses, old time country music, tropical rainstorms & traveling to far away places (Turkey is my fave)

A successful salon business with a killer team who are happy, healthy & super successful. But for me? I would love to spend my mornings waking up to the sound of horses roaming around our renovated farm house; somewhere in Northern rivers, NSW. Slower mornings & working from anywhere in the world, at any time, with my little family is the ultimate goal.

Early morning walks on the beach with my love, Ed & doggo Olive… Followed by movement, a healthy meal, client calls, salon appointments, team education… - no two days are ever the same & I am always on the go with something!
